Here it is muffins! Finally got to pinning down my top 10 standout beauty products for 2014. Most of you know follow bloggers know that this is a really difficult task because there are so many products that do justice to us and I guess it all boils down to which product impressed us just a little bit more.

So without any further ado and in no particular order, here are my favourite products:

1. Maybelline fit me concealer

This concealer has been my HG of a concealer ever since I started using it earlier in 2014. The shade that works best for me is #20 Sand Sable. It’s perfectly light weight and doesn’t leave my skin dry or feeling clogged up. I don’t only use this to conceal redness around my nose and lips but I use this as a natural finish highlighter too. The concealer comes in 6 shades that can appeal to people with various skin tones.

This product can be purchased online from,, If you live in Pakistan, you can find them at large superstores and cosmetics stores that sell international makeup products or you can order them through various facebook pages (see makeup suppliers tab on my web page).

2. Bobbi Brown SPF 35 BB Cream
image002 For a climate as hot and humid as that of Karachi’s, one must always swear sunscreen irrespective of whether they are indoors or outdoors during the day and of course a little bit of coverage is always welcome. My BB cream pick is of Bobbi Brown and my shade is “light”. This BB cream is lightweight, doesn’t clog my pores and keeps my skin feeling breathable and fresh all summer long. The product also comes in various shades and yes although it is heavier on the pocket, I absolutely find it to be worthy of it.

3. Foreo luna mini cleansing system
image002 The Foreo LUNA mini was gifted to me by my husband earlier this year and it became a bare necessity for me especially when it came to getting rid of all the makeup I had to wear during the endless wedding seasons. The LUNA served its purpose which is to drive away all impurities and blemishes which are present on the surface of the skin. It unclogs pores and clears away makeup residue. I will give a detailed review on it very soon so keep a watch.

4. Illamasqua powder blush in Lover

I own many many blushes in various shades and finishes. I love blushes and to pick my 2014 favourite was a HUGE task, it really was! I guess it just boiled down to the one I perhaps reached out for the most and felt the prettiest wearing. So Illamasquas powder blush in Lover turned out to be just that blush.

This pretty peach blush is a must have for a makeup lover, its subtle yet pigmented, great for a summer day, yet fit for an evening out. A little goes a long way so this baby is going to last you a while

5. Inglot kohl pencil 01

Almost every girl who wears kohl pencil is always on the lookout for the perfect one – as was I, until I got my hands on Inglot’s kohl 01 pencil and I stocked myself up with a few. I am surprised that this product doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. It is smooth, creamy and super duper pigmented in application and more so it is very long lasting. In fact I also gifted one to my mother, and even she said that it’s awesome and trust me she never really gives her opinion on makeup!

6. Bobbi Brown Artstick

Bobbi Brown Artsticks have been my HG lip products in 2014. Convenient, easy to apply, non-drying and beautifully matte in finish, yes that’s what I am talking about! I own three of them at the moment: Sunset Orange, Bright Raspberry and Dusty Pink (will post a separate review and swatches on these babies soon)! What I especially love about these chubby sticks is that they are the perfect mix of a lip liner and lipstick in one. A must try for those muffins who like a smooth matte lipstick application and more so each Artstick comes with its own sharpener… yay!

7. Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) contour kit

Convenience is just an ABH contour kit away. Whenever I have travelled away from home, this kit has been in my makeup bag. It has three matte contour powders that suit a range of complexions and highlighter powders as well as a banana powder which is ideal as a setting powder for my under eye area. Full marks to ABH for this!

7. Urban Decay Naked 3 palette.

The UD Naked 3 palette was my favourite palette of 2014, especially because I was on a pink and purple eyeshadow roll and it had all the right colors to complement looks for both day and night. From the impressive packaging and range of rosey – taupey shades this was definitely a keeper for me.

In fact I did a bridal look for a cousin of mine using the UD Naked 3 palette, here have a look…

9. OGX Renewing Morocco Argan Oil Shampoo

After suffering from hairfall and coarse hair texture for quite a while, half way through the year I decided to add more multivitamins to my diet and also switch to sulfate-free shampoos. So I gave OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo a go. It did take some time to show positive effect on my hair, but after persistence I am glad I used this product as my hair feels softer and shinier and my hair quality has also improved. Hence I have repurchased this shampoo.

10. Chloe eau de parfume

My favourite fragrance of 2014. It had to be from Chloe. Floral, feminine and chic, the fragrance delivers what it promises. The bottle is so pretty and makes a lovely addition to my vanity.
